Jiffy Steamer Company will receive the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program Award (SHARP) by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development on July 25, 2007 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.  This award is not given lightly and Jiffy Steamer has passed the strenuous test to become a SHARP site. Tennessee Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development, Mr. James G. Neeley, will present the award to Jiffy Steamer COO, Clint Joiner and Safety Manager, Billy Williams. 

The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) recognizes employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system. Employers must have a Lost Workday Injury and Illness Rate and Total Recordable Case Rate below the average for their respective industry and be on OSHA’s high hazard industry classification list targeted by a national emphasis program.  Acceptance into SHARP by OSHA is an achievement of status that identifies businesses as a model for worksite safety and health.
